As Minnesotans, we each have stories about how water matters to us. The purpose of this exhibit is to broaden our understanding of, and care for, our shared water future.
"WE ARE WATER" is a collaboration of local hosts such as West Polk Soil and Water Conservation District, University of Minnesota Crookston and City of Crookston in partnership with the Minnesota Humanities Center and several local, federal, state agencies and community/regional organizations and groups.
Below is a list of Events hosted at the University of Minnesota Crookston, during the WE ARE WATER MN Exhibits duration.

Visual Arts Reception and Water Bar

Northwest Minnesota Arts Council
The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) welcomes you to visit the We Are Water Art Exhibit, now on display in Kiehle Auditorium at the University of Minnesota Crookston.
Artworks were created by area residents during workshops that were held throughout the region this fall. Participants were encouraged to create using the theme “We Are Water” as inspiration. In a similar spirit to our Equality and Respect for All workshops, participants were provided a 12×12 canvas, supplies and instruction to create a piece of art around this theme. Water can be a source of recreation; it keeps us alive; it is used for daily life. Participants were encouraged to bring snippets or photographs or anything else they might want to use as material, medium, or inspiration.  The workshops and exhibit are part of a larger
We Are Water MN project that spans the state of Minnesota.

Water Bar and Public Studio
Serving Water Since 2014. Water Bar began as a public art project in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our initial goals were simple: Encourage people to slow down and to consider their relationship with place and ecology, through the everyday act of drinking tap water together. In just over 3 years, Water Bar has developed into a unique arts and ecology organization: An artist-led, mission-focused business that is also a collaborative community space, and an emerging support network for arts and ecology leadership.
